I will be at the fields tomorrow night, Monday, July 11, 2011, to hand out pictures that have not been picked up as well as parent shirts for the Minors, Majors & the Dixie Boys State Shirts and any other late order shirts that were placed in the past two weeks. Brighton Dixie Youth will host the 2011 Class A/ T Ball District Tournament this weekend. Games begin Friday at 6:30pm and the Championship game will be Sunday 2:30pm. This will be a 7 Team Tournament featuring Dyersburg American, Madision North, Madison South, Munford American, Munford National, Crockett County and Brighton National.

Any local businesses wishing to advertise or donate items for the tournament, please contact me or Diana Mendoza by Thursday. Volunteers are still needed for all areas all weekend. Local restaurants can drop off their menus at the ballfield for distribution to the visiting teams.

All Star Uniforms

The price will be $50.00 per player. This includes jersey, pants, hat, socks, belt, last name & number on back of jersey, first name on hat, and Dixie Youth patch sewed on the proper sleeve.

Sara and Cynthia will be collecting the All Star uniform money on Friday June 17th from 6:30 to 7:00 and again on Monday June 20th from 6:30 to 7:00 at the BDY Pavilion. Receipts will be given, at that time and ALL monies MUST be paid prior to receiving their uniform. No exceptions. Great Participation again this year and the players looked great in the Parade of Teams. The Redbirds WON and a couple of our players caught flyballs!! ATTENTION: Redbirds Tipton County Day Participants

All tickets need to be picked up from me at the Dixie Boys Field ...I will be there starting at 4:30 and will be there through at least 8:00 pm. VERY MINIMAL tickets left so see me or call me...otherwise you will have to call and order tickets over the phone.

ALL players and coaches participating need to be in jerseys and hats and lined up NO LATER THAN 12:30 pm at the Fourth Street Gate (Centerfield) Parents will drop off their kids (with their ticket) with their coaches or board member. Parents will then enter through the front gate.

Parents will need to meet their kids near the 3rd base dugout as they exit the field from the parade.

There are some of us that are meeting at the McDonalds in Munford/Atoka at 10:30 to feed the kids and then caravaning down to the Stadium.

I will be taking lots of pictures while we are lining up of each team represented and individual shots too and they will be posted on our picture website this week.

Tipton County Day with the Redbirds

REMINDER: Tipton County Redbirds day is this Sunday, May 15th (LINE UP TIME IS 12:30 PM)....tickets are $7.00 and you need to get your money to your coaches by Thursday or just meet me yourself so that we can have the tickets in hand by Friday. If paying by check please make checks out to "Memphis Redbirds"!

This is supposed to be a FUN DAY for the kids...if all coaches will call their parents ...we can make this happen. I will be at the field on Thursday, May 12th at 6:00 pm ...I will be leaving the field at 6:30 pm to pick up any ticket orders. I will pass them back out Friday and Saturday during game times.

If you are unable to be at our fields at the requested time to drop off ticket money you can also charge them by phone and they will have your tickets at Will Call.

Calling all COACHES, PARENTS & PLAYERS!!!! Diana Mendoza and Jenni Cacy will be at Patriot Bank in Atoka for the March of Dimes "Jail & Bail" to raise at least $300 each for a GREAT CAUSE! Griff Fisher of Munford's Baseball League will also be there and we want to be bailed out before he is!!!

Within the next week the links for the team websites will be the correct ones for the 2011 season. Each coach will get their login information via email. These sites will be used for schedules, team notes by the coaches and will also be where the coaches log their scores for the games so you can keep up with the standings throughout the season.

*****UPDATE: All links are now working on our homepage for each teams' personal websites. Logins will be emailed out to the head coaches Thursday or Friday so that you can start to personalize your homepage message. Parents will need to sign web permission slips for any child under the age of 13 in order for their name to be listed on the webpage for their team.

Evaluations are being changed to MONDAY, MARCH 7TH

Evaluation times for new ball players to the league or those moving up in the age brackets are as follows: T-Ball (4-6 yrs), Minor League (9-10 yrs) & Dixie Boys (13-14 yrs) will be on their fields at 6:00 pm and then Coach Pitch (7-8 yrs), Major League (11-12 yrs) & Dixie Majors (15-19 yrs) will follow at 7:00 pm

If you are new to our league or have moved up to the next age group of players, you will need to be at evaluations or you will be put in a hat and be a hat pick to be put on a team. These are NOT tryouts...each child will be on a team...its just a way for the coaches to draft their players.

Dixie Majors Update from the State Tournament

We are proud of the sportmanship and integrity that BDY Dixie Majors showed after 2 hard fought losses. We are proud of all of you!

Also to note...Brighton AND Covington were supporting each other and showing even more GREAT sportsmanship by cheering each other on at each of their games!

Covington has one loss on them and two wins...so hoping that Tipton County goes even further in the State Tourney!

Dixie Boys and the State Tournament

We are so VERY PROUD for the Brighton Dixie Boys....they played some GREAT ball this weekend and won a game at the State Tournament. YES our 2nd seed team went further than the 1st seed, Munford....you guys should hold your heads up high....we finished 8th or 9th (will know official later) out of 12 teams in the STATE!!!! Furthest this age group has gone in over 20 years!

Friday night we were beat by Hardin County...Saturday AM we beat Crockett County and knocked them out of the tournament...Saturday PM we lost after a GREAT 3 inning start to Collinwood. GREAT BALL playing and looking forward to their reward!

I just want to say that I am PROUD to be living in Tipton County!!! We have had some GREAT ball playing this weekend in Covington and Brighton for the All Star Tournaments. We should all be...PROUD that Brighton, Covington and Munford ALL have teams advancing to DISTRICT in the TBall (all three leagues) and Coach Pitch...(all three leagues) ages and to STATE in the Dixie Boys (Munford & Brighton) and Dixie Majors (Brighton & Covington) ages!

There are always going to be "in-county" rivalries but what you have to remember is that we are all from the same county and that we should all be proud and show GREAT sportsmanship no matter the outcomes in these tournament games and those to come....GOOD LUCK to all as the Minor and Major leagues start up this weekend and as the rest of the age groups continue on their journey!
